No, I don't think it would be a good thing to do because the braids will make it harder for you to thoroughly wash the perm out of your hair. and if some of the perm isn't washed out all the way, it'll just damage and break your hair. You said you've been been perming your hair for 2 years but i never liked the result's. Have you tried a different perm? some work better than others depending what kind of hair you have (coarse, fine, medium texture)

It would probably be useless to put a perm on synthetic braid hair, the perm will not affect anything but your real hair and adding perm to your braids will only create a mess. What you should do is take your braids down, then wash your hair condition and proceed to blow dry it. The next day you should perm it, if your hair is blown out rather than kinky from your braids your perm will take better.

kymkim1 here! I studied Cosmetology in college. Relaxers and perms are very powerful. Powerful enough to change the chemistry of your hair. Braids dry your hair and can cause breakage. If you can endure a good two weeks of no braids or relaxer or perms you can began to strengthen your hair. Treat your hair for breakage and dryness professionally. Then put in the perm or relaxer. (Special Note: Relaxers straightens, Perms Curl)...Bouncing back and fourth will result in hair loss or serious damage.

Definetely, NOT. I am black, and i stay with braids in my hair,i mean i wear them so much that i was born with braids, but no. You shouldn't even perm your hair as soon as you get your braids out,it does damage.

Have you ever seen those crimping rollers? You can get them in a beauty supply. Those might work with perm solution, but I think you should get some advice about it at a salon before doing anything.
