I run Windows XP... I know I have run a program before that tells me what programs are starting up when I boot up and while my computer is on, but I can not find it now. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andy

Hello Dude,

Goto Start|Run and type MSCONFIG and press enter. On the end, you will see "Start-up" This will have everything that is starting up and where it is starting from, ie., registry, start-up, batch file, etc.

Go to start > Run and then type in MSCONFIG. From there, a box will pop up, and you need to go to the Startup tab. From there, you can disable a startup program.

Hope that helps.

Click "Start" then "Run" then type "msconfig" in the box that opens and hit ENTER. Then, on the "Start Up" tab, you can uncheck boxes to stop various items from loading up. If you're not sure about whether or not an item needs to be running, either leave it alone or Google it and see what it is. If you just uncheck everything, you're computer isn't going to work. Many of the items listed will be safe to uncheck, however.

either right click on the taskbar and pull up task manager

or press start/run msconfig to see what loads at startup

or press start/run and type services.msc for a more detailed look at what's currently running on your computer
