Global warming happens in phases. When the weather is unusually warm, its global warming. When there are more hurricanes, its global warming. But if its colder than usual, or we have a calm hurricane season, global warming is just on pause. When the anecdotal data doesn't fit, its a slow process, and when it does we are seeing the real affects of mankind on the world. Oh, and global warming gets worse during election years. Its must be all the hot air the politicians are blowing, because it couldn't be a tactic to win elections.... right?

Global warming only looks at the places that get warmer. The fact that major portions of the earth hit record cold temperatures last year went almost completely unreported. The global warming crowd didn't even notice...or at least acted as if they didn't.

Regarding a couple comments made: Global warming theory states the overall temperatures of the earth will get warmer resulting in all sorts of calamities. Severe weather will be one of those calamities that are supposedly going to be one effect of global warming. Did anybody besides me notice that the hurricanes were fewer the last two years despite the claims that the globe hit record hi temps?

Global warming is a generalization. It doesn't necessarily mean that every climate is going to get warmer. The concept of Global Warming is that the atmosphere is more turbulent and dynamic as a whole. The resulting weather patterns tend to be more severe and less in-line with historical patterns.

Don't you know? All weather changes can be attributed to global warming! The scientific community already reached consensus on global warming. That means if you disagree you are a moron.

Al Gore is a genius! He invented the internet and will save mankind from global warming.

It is a question of repartition of water in continent underground spaces.
Too much overpumping of water make the ground dry and dryness make climat change , not globale warming.

umm.... that's not true. That was made up (the cold snap) in the Day After Tomorrow. As you can see, it is actually warmer than normal.

Do some research before launching a question like this. It doesn't mean that everywhere will get warmer. Some of us could get very much colder.
