Hmm, it depends on a great many things. Are you dating or just wish you were dating? When one member of a relationship (friendship or romantic), thinks that the relationship is further along than it is, it make it uncomfortable for the other party. Compliments are good, but attempting to 'force' a relationship to a deeper level by sharing secrets usually backfires (as you've observed).
Also, if y'all are just friends, she might think that you were trying to turn it into something romantic (whether or not you are) and she doesn't want things to be romantic between the two of you. Your attempts to turn things romantic might make her uncomfortable.
Play it cool for a while. Apologize for making her uncomfortable if necessary. And if your relationship is strong enough, talk with the girl about where your relationship is (and where you'd like it to be)
Long story short, it all depends. I've had guys compliment me and tell me secrets and been very uncomfortable. And I've had guys complimented and been told secrets and flt closer to a guy. It all depends on the kind of relationship we had beforehand. (And my perception of what the guy wanted from me)

If she liked you in the first place, this might very well melt her heart.
If it seemed like she didn't really care about your secrets, then she thinks you're a creep.
And although this might bring her closer to you (assuming you like her), you're moving realllly fast if you're telling her all your secrets. A girl loves compliments, and that's the perfect thing to do if you like her. But if you reveal everything about yourself right away, the mystery of love will be gone too quickly.
Save some deep secrets for later, when/if you're deeply in love!

It really depends on the kind of relationship you have/had with her. I know personally I love it when a guy I'm seeing feels like he can open up to me. I feel like wow this guy I love so much is trusting me with his darkest secrets. If it was a guy I really didn't like in that way I would still be there for him. If she is truly your friend, she would still act the same way she always does. If shes acting funny, explain to her you just really needed to get a few things off your chest. Tell her you thought she was that good of a friend that you could open up to. GOOD LUCK!!

Well... to me that seems like you may have feelings for her. She probably senses that and might not feel the same way. If you don't like her, then you may want to tell her before it's too late and you lose her as a friend. If you do like her, then I would suggest coming clean about it and telling her because it's better to take a chance than to have all of your future conversations be awkward.

She doesn't feel the same way about you as you feel about her. She's pretending that it didn't happen and is trying to have some space. Maybe if you start ignoring her she'll be more interested in you. She'll wonder why you're not following her around anymore and she'll come find you!
