In prison (UK) I had to wear a uniform but it was jeans with a T Shirt type thing. Why do they use jumpsuits for jail uniforms in America?

I work in a prison, we have them in jumpsuits/uniforms because of the type of clasification system we use. It makes it easier for us to tell what inmate belongs in what area of the jail. Also it heps deter "the showing of gang colors" and like someone else said, easier to pick out an escapee

If you are still striving to boost you are vertical and you're trying to get the hands above the rim, set Vert Shock to the test, a program you will think it is here https://tr.im/oI5Af  and give it a try, you'll be astonished of how fast you can become an animal hopper if you train the best way.
This program will not cause you to leap 1000s of situations because Vert Shock was created and employed by actual elite stage basketball players.
When it comes right down to it, in the event that you really want to leap higher, you only found the best system on the planet to do so. Every other way would merely be a waste of time.

They don't all use jumpsuits. The LA County Jail, I believe the largest jail in the US, has the jeans and t-shirt thing.

Some have jumpsuits. It's up to the people running them to determine. I think the brightly-colored jumpsuits are more popular at higher security facilities.

The uniforms make them more easy to identify if they escape. It also breaks them down mentally (or is supposed to) to be stripped of their clothes from the outside world. It is also supposed to help reduce gang violence with not having colors hanging out.

Some private prisons in the US, such as CCA (Corrections Corporation of America) they do, but most don't.

One reason is they are easy to recognize if they escape.

this is totally off speculation but I assume its harder rape an inmate when you're wearing a jumpsuit? With jeans, you can easily pull off some dude's pants from the back but with a jumpsuit it's definitely harder (or takes more work)

Because we have too many prisoners to outfit them in jeans...it would cost too much!

They do? Maybe the UK should do the same thing too.

jump suits are easier to take off, they do not require belts or other such things to use as objects of violence, also then can be seen as who they are in orange.
