I know this guy likes to pick on girls, but I know he likes girls because I overheard him talking with guy friends (and he doesn't care if other people know) about kissing their girlfriends and "poking the fish", hahaha! He's very nice, but his rudeness is a sign that he's putting attention on you. It's not so much about the rude comments or actions, it's that he's putting attention on you to get attention back. This is rudeness in a positive way.
In a negative way- there are all different kinds of girls, I'd find it pretty common if he was rude to a snooty, obnoxious, loudmouth girl. If the girl doesn't do anything to harm the guy in any way, I'm guessing the guy wants attention as I've said before, and the teasing is fun for him. Don't take it as bondage when I say "teasing" or "taunting" but I only want to make a point that it's true that people like taunting or teasing and take pleasure in it..

Especially if they're immature, it's because that's their way of covering up that they like girls.
Of course, it's possible that a guy is rude to a girl because he genuinely dislikes her. But that's pretty rare, and usually obvious because other people can tell he dislikes her.
Otherwise, a guy tries to show a girl that he likes her, but if she starts catching on, like flirting with him, then he gets scared. Instead of moving further, he uses rudeness as a barrier.
In other times, a guy might say something rude just to get a reaction out of a girl. If the girl's reaction is charming, then he goes after her. At least, that's what my boyfriend did :)

Some people are just rude in general, or haven't learned how to be considerate. I've known plenty of rude girls too. There's plenty of nice people around that you don't need to even mess with people that are rude to people. Life is too short to give them the time of day.

Because they wasn't raised to respect girls or some guys don't know how to express their feelings to a girl and they feel like being mean is how they show that they like you, but others are just jerks

because their Momma's didn't raise them right. A boy/man, should always be the picture of a gentleman, and practice... his best manners around a girl... unless of course he's like 9-12 years old... then his mamma needs to tune him in a bit more
