Most often, dating seems all focused around going out to dinner and the guy trying to show how nice of places he can take you and what good taste he has. But time and time again, I find it sooooo difficult to get the point across:

-- I want to go do and see things! I want to learn something new, I want to have a fun activity.

Furthermore, though its really great to be treated like a real princess, I don't want a guy to think that he has to break the bank (and I often start feeling uncomfortable when a guy keeps trying), but that I'd rather just enjoy spending time doing something with him.

And it typically backfires, when they ask what I want to do and I say lets go for a walk or something else, they get offended that "its not very romantic" :-s

And when I try pointing out that I'm not high maintance, it doesn't seem to register, or they act as if they wouldn't be interested in someone who wouldn't be high maintanance.

Ask if you can plan the date. Show them the kind of things you like to do and let him take you on his fancy dates every so often.

Furthermore, you may be dating the wrong kinds of men. You need to find someone more interested in activities. Someone who thinks taking a walk in romantic. (Which I agree with you, walking around somewhere with a guy can be super romantic.)

I don't know; I don't often eat Eastern fruit (snicker).

But seriously, try lookin in the weekend section of the newspapger, or on the web for local events. Many of these events are free, or cheap, and give you different experiences.

I agree, mainly becasue by the time 6 months has passed your date has become enormous with all the food you have both eaten.
