is born?? My hubby and I are expecting our 2nd baby and he has a son from his first marriage, some one told him that he will need to report to the child support as soon as the baby is born so they can make modifications on his payments... My questions in will child support run his SS# to see where he still works and how much he earns or he will just need to take his check stubs and that will be it? The thing is he is planning on getting a second job but he doesn't know if this will affect by child support taking away more or how does it work ??? Any advices on what to do or what to preceed???? Thanks !!!

Generally, the number of children he has with his current wife shouldn't affect the amount of child support he pays for children from previous relationships.

Getting a second job shouldn't change anything, either, until the next time his ex takes him to court to raise support.

the new baby will not have an affect on his child support. Child support is based on his income, so if he gets another job he will have to pay more child support.

well, if they run his ss # all of his employers will come up. In TN they ask where he works and send a form to the employer to fill out and send back then make the amount by his income. I think that I would report it when the baby is born. It is only fair.

The new baby should not affect his child support.
