I'm 14 and i'm 5'11" and 135 lbs am i average weight and how can i try to gain weight i take in approximately 2800-3300 calories per day but i just burn it off

I had that same problem growing up.. here is a few things you can do for the short term. Add extra mayo to your sandwiches. Ritz crackers have 80 calories for just 5 of them and they are easy to get in even if you are full. after a large meal take a warm bath not sure why this helps but I read it years ago. nestle quick chocolate milk and hershey milk shakes. ensure plus has 360 calories in 8oz of liquid. store bought egg nog is 200 calories in 4oz of egg nog.

long term make plain pasta and add 2 or 3 table spoons of extra virgin olive oil.. if there is left over oil when you finish your pasta dip toast in the oil till its gone.

pasta 200 calories per serving
3 tablespoons of olive oil = 360 calories
total 560 calories

stay away from burgers because they make you feel full longer then non meat products.

lift 5 or 10 pound weights and to stay toned.

when its warmer go in the sun for 15 mins a day.. your body needs light more then you think.

shakes in a blender are high calorie too. few teaspoons of sugar, a banana, 2 cups of whole milk, cup of yogurt breaks down like this.

3 teaspoons of sugar= 75 calories
2 cups of whole milk = 300 calories
bananna (medium) = 100 calories
cup of yogurt (your choise of flavor is) = 180 to 200 calories

total 675 calories from that shake alone

most of all do not weigh yourself everyday or you will drive yourself mad. be happy with who you are while you improve yourself.

Hey why do you want to gain weight? I think you are fine but if you really want to you can stop exercising and eat fatty foods and lay on the couch. But you can also try to get more muscles. muscles make you look strong and big and make you weigh more but you are still in good shape.

I would suggest that you practice yoga, that way, you will have good health. I seriously feel that you should not worry about gaining weight. You are just 14. Eventually, when you pass your teenage years and enter adulthood, you will automatically gain weight. Good luck and for now, concentrate on your education..

Age. You're 14... your metabolism is rediculously high right now. Work out and build muscle... If you just eat junky foods, you'll only be putting on fat, which can be unhealthy in the long run.

For a weight scale you can search yahoo or google under "boys/men weight scale." Once you find one it , look at it and it should chart: height, age, and weight. It should tell you whether you are underweight, average, or overweight. Hope I helped.

Exercise a lot and eat a high protein diet. Eat a well balanced diet or you will just gain fat that you´ll never lose.

Just as long as you eat healthy, you shouldn't worry about it so much especially if you are at an average weight.

eat donuts,

being underweight would be a dream for me.
i love donuts, but i rarely eat them nowadays because i'm very overweight >> 5'8'', 185lbs.

don't eat too much junk food though, because too much can clog your arteries and kill you.

so.... eat a lot, sure. but eat food that's good for you as well.
fruits, veggies, etc.
