Lately my cat has been laying on me when i'm in the bed..and this happens everyday...is she aware that she's laying on me or does she think i'm part of the bed?? She will lay on my chest, my legs, my stomach..or she might just put part of her body on me..why?? Oh and she ALWAYS rubs her head on me...Is this affection or does she think i'm some kind of inanimate object?

She is just trying to show that she loves you. It's normal and mine do that too.

Often times when an animal gets overly attentive like this, it means that they were weaned too soon and they're still looking for that motherly love. She lays on your chest because that's where your heart beats and animals like that rhythm. When she's rubbing her head on you, that means she's marking you as her territory telling all the other cats that you belong to her. No matter what, it is love. Just love her back.

Didn't you know? Cats regard us as warm blooded furniture. LOL. Seriously, I am not sure exactly why they lay on us but they do lay on their Mom when they are kittens and their siblings. They want to be warm and they think of you as their Mom when they were young and so they crawl into bed or wherever when you lay down to rest. When your cat rubs your head on you she is releasing a scent that other cats can smell that claims you as hers. She loves you and wants the others to know that you belong to her. LOL.

My cat does this to me all the time. Your cat probably feels that she is a lap cat and wants attention. I would pet her more throughout the day and maybe lock her up in her room at night if it annoys you.
All cats rub their heads on you, it's total affection. She probably just wants attention or feels that you are a good owner.

Because they can... go figure.

I mean think about a creature like an elephant. Isn't one of your first thoughts something like; Wow, wouldn't it be cool to get on top of that monster and just hang out for a bit?

Yes, I do think anthropomorphism as applied to a cat very funny.... that is because it is pretty much all we can do.

Your cat probably just wants attention and that is why she is laying on you so much. She probably does not think you are a inaminate object because cats know these thing and if she is rubbing her head on you she does probably want attention. So don't worry about it and just start giving you cat more attention.

Many cats consider humans "warm furniture" and as for the head rubbing, I think I read that it means the cat considers you an equal
to her, rubbing on your legs is more a sign that they are marking us as theirs. Look up "cat behavior" on a search engine

My two cats do this. Everytime I sit down, one will be in my lap the other on the back of the sofa (if I'm on the sofa). At night, I will have one at my feet and the other behind my knees.
The love you, the feel close to you, you are the master so enjoy!!
Meow!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! She likes you. What else do you think. Maybe you are a great owner to this cute cat. You might smell good or something and the cat is attracted to it. Check to see just in case.

Yuor cat loves you and she wants more attention from you. Whenever she lays on you don't shoo her away. Massage her or praise her so she will have a connection with you and she may even come to you when you call her name.

no, your cat truly knows that he is laying on you and is doing it on purpose to keep you warm, comforted and feeling loved. My eldest cat will lay down between my legs with his upper body on one leg - every night, no fail. The kitten will lay down on my chest or lay over my arm. I got used to it.
