He feels he really screwed up a good thing. Try to see if you can talk to him about how he really hurt you and that you are no longer interested in him and there is nothing you can do because your heart is not there for him anymore. Tell him you no longer see him as the same person you were in love with. Tell him to respect that, because it is not your fault that he screwed up a good thing and it is now too late to patch things up. Tell him you have moved on and he is no longer a part of your new journey. Tell him not to call anymore because his voice gets you upset all over again and you are tired of his tired A**!

Get caller I.D. and don't ever answer the phone again when he calls. Let his messages go to voice mail, but don't talk to him. Every time you do, he believes he still has a chance. Put an end to it and don't engage him any longer.

P.S. I'm proud of you for being a strong enough woman to stand up to a cheater. I'm sure it broke your heart... but at least you know you won't tolerate such nonsense. I hope you're next love is honest and true. Good luck!

I had a really similar thing happen to me, I broke up with my boyfriend with the usual "I never want to talk to you again!" theatrics... Yet, three days later he calls me. In the middle of ->church<-, and everyone's wondering why the nokia theme was playing during the chior's "Halleluja's"...

After the service I went outside and called him back demanding he never, ever, talk to me again. I told him I was ashamed I'd associated myself with someone so low they would destroy the trust I gave them. I also said I was happy we'd dated--- because I'd learned not to date guy's like him in the future. I said it all calmly, seriously, and with serious resolute. If you give a guy a sympathetic inch when he calls you after a breakup, he has hope you'll give him the time of day again. Just do what you have to do, and say what you really feel. I promise you, there's no way on earth he'll call back to face your firey rage.. lol

tell him ONE more time that you no longer want to keep in touch with him. be firm and assertive. if he doesn't take you seriously, you have to control what will happen next. i suggest that you don't answer his phone calls, don't reply to his emails or texts. eventually, he'll get the idea. if it's been 8 months and he's still able to contact you, you might need to look at the bigger picture and see if you're doing anything to allow this to continue. you may not realize it, but it's possible that you're not being completely honest about what you truly want (as far as having him in your life). good luck.

no - i know how he is feeling, although i never cheated on my boyfriend (he just decided he wanted to be single). he still has alot of feelings for you and wants to be with you. I mean you guys were together for 5 years..he was probably one of your closests friends if not your best friend. I know my boyfriend was my best friend and now since hes not with me anymore its hard to do alot of things because I just dont have fun doing them anymore. Even though its been 8 months I'm sure hes still trying to get over you and if he still loves you then it will probably take quite a while!

Sounds like he thought he'd be able to have a fling and still have you waiting in the wings, and when that plan backfired, he's like "OH, SH!T!" GOod for you, girl, for sticking to your guns and keeping YOU first!! Ignore him. Sooner or later he'll stop. ANY reaction from you is contant with you. Just ignore him.
