Well, I saw this one ad that was addressing that same question - why avoid the use of pot.

After all, it is fairly harmless. It is virtually impossible to overdose from it and compared to other drugs, it can do little harm to you. Plus, you do get a high.

So, the ad approached the issue from a different angle:

When people use pot, they have a really good high the first time. Most times, they continue using pot just so they can get the same high. Say what you want, but this is addiction.

The ad used this as their basis - They had three guys on a couch all slummed out. One of the guys is talking and he acknowledges that you could never die from the use of marijuana. In fact, you're more likely to die skating with a girl out in the "real world." He goes on to explain why this is by saying that absolutely nothing happens on the couch. They are so high that they can do nothing but slum on a couch. So then he concludes with "Me? I'd rather take my chances in the real world."

And that's pretty much the real reason to avoid the use of any drugs, especially the seemingly harmless ones like marijuana. Because before you know it, your entire life or at least a major portion of it revolves around getting high. You do absolutely nothing BUT get high - that has become your only idea for fun. You don't think skateboarding, bowling, watching movies with friends, skating, etc, etc, is fun because you'd much rather get high.

Besides, weed is EXPENSIVE! Continued use really adds up - Imagine what you could do with all that money. One survey said that (this was for smokers but it applies) if one smoked a pack of cigarettes a day, at the end of the year, they would've wasted enough money to buy themselves a decent car. A CAR!

That's the reasoning I use to convince myself not to smoke weed.

Plus, the smell is just horrid - all your clothes and even you will smell like weed. Everyone around you will know you do drugs. It's much nicer to see someone sweaty because they had been playing sports with their friends than to see someone smell like weed because they'd been getting high.

When my son, who is 24 now, was 16 was using pot, I made him write me a report on on why it wasn't a good idea to use it. I wrote down all the questions I wanted answered in that report.
He used the web to look up what he needed.

You should not use marijuana because the more people that use it, the higher the price goes.

It is called "supply and demand."

Marijuana is expensive enough already. The last thing we need is more users driving the price up.

i smoked it for around 15 yrs and sometimes i wished i never did it because i think i would of have some more smarts and did better in life . i am all ways struggling in life but i cant change it now ..
