I remember a nice story...My dog Ginger (she was a ginger colored red) was such a funny girl. I had a few chicks that I borrowed from the neighbor (I was just a kid) to raise. I didn't think twice about bringing these chicks around my Ginger (actual name was Magnum's Shelly). She had maternal instincts like you wouldn't believe. Birds (chicks) are impossible to potty train...but with Ginger around, they were house safe. She would make the most unusual grimaces as she licked up the stools. Sounds gross...but you had to be there. Ginger was a smiler, and a singer...and she wagged her stump like it was 10 feet long. When she would do something she knew was questionable, she would have the biggest grin on her face, and start shaking her whole behind...her reaction was different with my dad (alpha male)...she would turn over and pee, with a grin on her face...and her little stump would be tucked all the way down as if it could go between her legs. She was very protective of my sister, mother and me. I recall one time when the neighborhood bully was trying to fight me...in my yard. Ginger was right there, and he hit her with an abalone shell from our front yard collection. I told him not to hit my dog...he did it again, and I took on the bully. I pounded him good...used his head on our kitchen floor...and my mom grabbed him and threw him out of the property. We didn't let Ginger attack the boy, because it would be unsafe for her in the yard with the bad neighbor around (learned he is in prison now--wonder how that happened). Well...anyway, Ginger has been gone for a long time, but I can never forget my companion...friend...Ginger dog.

One day I was in the phone company to pay my bill, it was summer time, my 100lb male Doberman, Snoop (Doggy Dog) was left in the car with the window down. He was very well behaved so I didn't think twice about leaving the car windows down. There was a line inside so I was in there for awhile. Snoop must have thought it was too long because here he comes walking in the doors that opens automatically.I heard all these gasps and turned to see what it was all about. He walked in, stood still and looked over the line looking for me. Of course I told everyone not to worry that he would not bother anyone. I got out of line, took him back to the car and went back to my original place in line. After paying the bill, I went to the car and asked Snoop if he was looking for his Mom? Of course I didn't scold him. There was quite a few people that came in the phone company after I had so I think he was just making sure I was safe!!!! He was my Jewel !!!!!!I I loved him dearly and miss him something terrible. I lost him to Rainbow Bridge three years ago due to cancer.

a few..
My dad had two Pepper and Apolo. This was back in the roller skate days so me and my dad's girlfriends son Billy would steal our sisters skates and my dad's dobys and go for a ride. The thing that two nine year old boys don't realize is how powerfull a dobys strenght is and hatetred for squirls are. you can picture the rest

Today he has one named Rocky and I have instilled a little more disapline in him. He is a big baby thats why I had to train him to smile befor I will pet him, also when you first open the door sto the shop he greats you by running at you down low with a big full toothed smile. Like I said he is a big baby and that makes it al the more funny to se people turn white when he is just looking for some love..

I don't have room for one myself so I got a min pin and named her Pebbles

My brother and I were paying cars and our Doberman "Tori" was lying right where we were playing. My brother about age 4 kept driving his car over her front legs "They were a bumpy road", He said. After about the tenth time, she got upset and snapped at him. She did bite him, right on the ear lobe. It did break skin. And still to this day we tease him about how the dog pierced his ear. (She was a GREAT dog). She was lying there "Watching" us. She was just like a nanny.

Too many to mention, they are a laugh a minute and very protective yet at the same time they are spoilt little babies that lap it all up.
