Many times, people don't point out bad manners, so they'll continue doing whatever they're doing without even realizing that it is rude/inappropriate.

Manners have always been the rules of a higher Aristocracy. It separated the Commoners from the Aristocracy. It was called "breeding" by some. In America we have become very complacent with accepting a lower class of living. Money has nothing to do with proper etiquette. It is a state of mind and pride in oneself. And as I read someone else said, Laziness.

Good question. Most people nowadays aren't taught good manners, and others feel like they are most important, not anyone else. So they treat others like dirt. But these are the main ones that are quick to complain if someone mistreats them.....it doesn't take work to be nice - and a little generosity can go a long way.

Kids don't have manners because they are raised by spoiled, selfish, rude adults that expect everything to be given to them without working for it. I work for a cell phone company and I have to say, that most of the children that I hear in the background would be tarred and feathered not given into. Most adults that call me not to talk about the bill, but to ask why we let it get so high? do they look up something first? no. do they look at the bill? no. It is easier to call and complain...and we have let them get away with it way too long.

People are starting to look at the "bad" ways they have been treated, and use that in inference. I teach my 3 young boys how to be gentlemen, they open doors for women, and know how to say thank you!

For those that continue to choose to exclude manners from their social skills there are also those that continue to ignore it.

Because they think being rude is cool and makes them look good. It does not, and people think bad of them without saying it.
Rude people think they are taking advantage of someone or making them look bad, but they are just building themselves a poor reputation while showing their own stupidity.

i think people do because now the cool thing is being "gansta" and being "cool" and when u classify someone like this usually the person is mean, not always but usually. have manners usually means being nice, and teenagers are usually now taught this, when they are young they are taught "please" and "thankyou" but when they turn to be a teenager, all manners are lost becuase no one thinks it is "cool" to be proper.
