I have had dandruff for a while. I tried to get rid of it by using Walmart brand Dandruff shampoo, but it isn't working. Oh yeah, no one else in my family has it, at least not that I know of.

Thank you for all your help!

Quite a few things can cause you to have dandruff. Stress, poor eating habits and generally using products that have alcohol as a main ingredient.

Is it dandruff or is it the dried-out gels and sprays that you use for your hair? Dandruff is going to come directly from the scalp. Hair products dry on the scalp and the hair.

If you're truly wanting to get rid of the dandruff, stop using cheap Wal-mart brands. Use a quality dandruff shampoo and a good moisturizer as a follow up. Go to a salon and ask a beautician which products would be best on a limited budget.

when controling dandruff you need to have a routine going. Use a clarifying shampoo, balancing/normal shampoo, and a dandruff/oily hair shampoo, and then also a mosturizing conditioner.

Dandruff ussually is in the form of dry scalp and too much oil buildup on the scalp.

alternating the shampoos and using your conditioner improves your scalp condition and gets rid of the dandruff.
