the Ice storm of 1998 in Maine, fourteen days, in January!

A day. A tropical storm went through and knocked out not only power to the area, but it knocked out the water station as well. So we were without water for about 24 hours. That was more difficult than going without the electricity. The power went back on before the water did.

Luckily only three days following Hurricane Juan in September 2003. Others in the area were without power for up to three weeks.

Actual time without electricity was just overnight. I powered up the generator each morning, and shut it off at bed time.

About 5 days. At the time we lived in a remote area and the power lines went down... took a while for workers to get out there and fix it, as it was low priority.

Toronto about 4 years ago.We had a blackout for 3 days because something happened to nuclear plant.Everyone was afraid at that time it could become second Chernobyl.

i admire this emotional and telling poem. Tears flow so abundantly that finally the middle can replace into indifferent. yet this capacity will come again,the gentle will return to warmth your soul only by way of actuality the comforting lights furnishings return after a electric powered capacity outage. The longest I ever went without power was 6 months - backpacking round Europe.

a week, was the big storm... 1987? anyway was living in the south a town called midhurst and in a rural lane. was on a different line/circuit from the main one, and took a week to repair, was a nightmare. no gas heating as there was electricity to power it too.

Almost an entire week in Seattle recently. It sucked. And it was cold! The windstorms there knocked a bunch of the cities power out.
