If you go to a hairdresser they should be able to help you find a color that suits your coloring. But, if you are attempting to do this yourself look for a color that is 2-3 shades lighter than your natural color. This will blend in easier and not look as streaky or fake as it can look when someone with brown hair highlights with blond.

A golden would be really pretty, and so would a lighter chestnut brown. I have dark brown hair with chestnut highlights now and I get a lot of compleiments on it. The sun catches the highlights and it's really pretty.

You can play around with different hairstyles and color/highlights best of all it's free. I also have very dark hair and I found that Herbal Esscense works the best for highlights. They have 3 different highlight kits so you can just look at the box for the color you will get. It really does turn out that exact color.

Light blond would look best with your color. Good luck with the highlights!

I was in the same case as you, i didn't want to do blonde because i wanted something more natural looking and something that wouldn't look too horrible while growing out. So i decided on getting caramel colored highlights because you can see them but its not like dead obvious, basically they look very natural. Good luck!

definitley blonde, because i have dark brown hair also, and i have tried wash out highlights on my hair, and it looked totally cool. lol
But, if you would like more colorful hair, i would go for red, it looks great for people with dark hair. Hope you like the advice!

a golden/honey blond looks very pretty on dark brown hair when it's done right and it goes well with almost any skin tone.

well, it kinda depends on your skin color. if ur pale, then blonde, if ur tan, then light brown, if ur brown, then u shouldn't get highlights.
