Well, it's difficult.
If you can't remember through a mnemonic (Hi as in Pie, so his name is Baker), try saying their name in your head 5 times when you meet them. Also, try using their name right away in a conversational sentence. Both of these can help the name "stick."

If they give you their cards, write something on the card that reminds you of them like..........fat, balding, loves bow ties, bad breath, thin, Hispanic, Chinese, etc. Of course, don't let anyone see what you write. If you don't have the chance to do that, then just pick up their names as you go along into the meeting and eventually people will mention their names again. That's the time to remember their names when all the confusion has settled.

i'm plenty greater probable to not undergo in ideas names. I regularly undergo in ideas faces (of people that I see in guy or woman, besides -- i'm not that sturdy with pictures or television), yet not inevitably the place I met them. And, I easily tend to correctly known people greater useful if i will work out them circulate. there's a situation referred to as prosopagnosia, wherein persons are unable to *know* faces -- not precisely an identical element, yet I questioned in case you had that. I had under no circumstances heard of it before I got here across this internet site, which i presumed defined it ok:

To say the name back when introduced. Such as, nice to meet you Bill. Then continue with a conversation using the name as often as possible such as. So Bill tell me what kind of work do you do. Bill, where did you live before coming here? It has been a pleasure to meet you Bill. I hope to see you again very soon Bill. Try to take the time to speak to each person and look at them when speaking to them and saying their name.

that can be difficult when there's a lot of people. try as use their name shortly after being introduced, and try and pick out something memorable about them that also starts with the frist letter of their name. For example, Simon is short, jerry looks like Jim Carey, you get the idea?

good luck! and if you do forget, just be honest and politely say, "i'm sorry, i've forgotten your name" and smile, most people won't be offended. People can tell when you've forgotten and are trying not to show it!

I'm really good at remembering names. Always use the name right away, and focus on the person, not any surroundings. Anything to connect your memory to the person, good or bad, always helps: Kelly, whose perfume was rather strong, becomes Smelly Kelly. If I saw Bill taking medication before I met him, he becomes Bill the Pill (although he's not a pill), Kate who likes to fish, becomes Kate Bait. Then before leaving them, make sure you use the name again: "Nice to meet you, Kate" and there it is ..burned in your memory.

I was told when you first meet someone try to say their name 3 times when they tell it to you. Like you say, "Hi so-n-so, How are you so-n-so, nice to meet you so-n-so. Then it would be easy to remember the name.

I have a hard time at it too. When I meet a new person instead of saying "nice to meet you" I try to say their name too: "Hi Sarah, it's nice to meet you".

Also, when you meet the person, try to associate something about them to their name. Not out loud, mentally.... Like Sarah has blue eyes.

Good luck.

the best way is to have an association for each one....say you meet 5 people and their names are:
betty
jack
michael
tina
kirby

this is how I would remember the names (you are likely to have different associations...but this is an example)
betty (betty crocker....i'd picture an apron on her)
jack (jack in the box ...i'd picture that stupid commercial)
michael (michael jackson)
tina (tina turner)
kirby (vacuum cleaner)

.....if you can associate the name with something already in your "memory banks" it helps
good luck!

I was cursed with an ability to remember everything, so remembering names isn't a problem for me
