I volunteered myself to make a chocolate sheet cake for a birthday and I have no idea how to go about it. I can bake and am pretty decent at it but not in such large amounts.

I have the sheet pan but no recipie. I have looked all over the internet and can only find the recipie for a Texas sheet cake, which is not what I want to make. Just a run of the mill, good ole chocolate cake.

The frosting is no problem I can do that, but as far as a recipe goes I need some helllp!!!

No fail chocolate cake,,,,, Just mix 2 packages of Devils food chocolate cake mix, for your sheet cake pan. You have to bake it for about 50 minutes in my oven so just do the top suggested time for the mix in your oven then test it and go from there. Im the designated Baker in my family and do it all the time. I even make all the birthday/ party cakes. I always use boxed mixes. Have fun

I don't know if this will help you or not, but my mom always made this chocolate cake with us when we were little. It is delicious and moist; we never even used icing on it, it is so good.

Goofy Cake:
In a 9X13 pan blend 3 cups flour, 2 cups sugar, 7 Tbsp cocoa, 2 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking soda. Mix together well, then dig three holes. Put 2 cups water in one, 3/4 C oil in another, 2 tsp vanilla and 2 tsp vinegar in the third. Stir well. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes. (You don't need a bowl, just mix it all in the pan! Make sure you put the vinegar in last, as it has a chemical reaction with the baking soda.)

Hope this is of some help!
