I dont want the wall paper boarder at the top of the wall, I wanted it down farther. Is there a standard amount of inches I can place it below the top of the wall...Should I line it up with the top of the windows?

I think you should put it wherever you want it. We put ours so it was the level of our changing table. Both our kids have enjoyed pointing to the animals and clouds while getting changed. Helps a lot with the wiggling. Congrats!

Some people put it at the top of the walls, some people put it straight across the middle and some people place it about 6-7 inches down from the top of the wall and paint the actual walls. It just depends on what you like.

There isn't a "standard" for this, it just depends on what YOU like:) How high your ceilings are, the width of the border, size of the room ~all come into play. I would have somebody hold it up, or tape a section of it, at different levels until you decide what you think you like best.
Good Luck...and Congratulations!
Also keep in mind where your curtains will hit.

Having the border lined up with the top of the window will give the room a nice touch.

I like the way it looks to do a chair rail with border. About 4 feet up from the ground.

I did my border about 2 inches down from the ceiling. That way it would still go above the doorframe.

I believe this is your preference and what ever looks the best in the room that you choose. I placed mine at about eye level.

It is a matter of taste.

I'm fond of borders at chairrail level in children's rooms so that they can get up close and see it really well.

I think just above crib level would be good. especially if its bright colors, then the baby could enjoy too.

The middle is the best.
