I'm trying to cut processed food and sugar and (most) salt out of my diet, but I just can't eat tuna without some pickles. Opinions?

there is nothing wrong with eating pickles, they are very low calorie. don't even worry about the salt. if you are consuming plenty of water and eating mainly whole foods salt is the last thing you have to worry about.

people that suffer from high blood pressure and hypertension have to worry about how much sodium they intake.

According to the Weight Watchers Points plan, pickles are 0 points, so you can have an unlimited number of pickles (within reason) and lose weight according to their plan. Pickles are basically cucumbers and vinegar and salt, so go ahead and eat some pickles. If you are concerned about the salt, cut back salt in some of your other foods.

Yes, you can eat pickles on a diet but not too many because of the high sodium. Sometimes they are just what you need to kill the craving for salty foods. Try Vlasic baby dills in your tuna and also put a tablespoon of the liquid in. Makes it yummy.

Yes, most pickles are calorie free. I would only eat a little bit because of the high salt content.

Pickles are loaded with sodium (salt) !!!! If you just can't eat your tuna without them, try some fresh cucumbers that have been dipped in vinegar and put some cracked pepper on them! Very delicious!

one or two pickles a day won't harm you. their downfall is their salt content, which can cause you to lose water and increase your blood pressure. be sure to drink lots of water during the day to fight this.
