Go to the doctor. I was experiencing the same thing in college, and I used Q-tips every day. The doctor shot a stream of water into my ear and dislodged a cylinder of wax about 1/2" long!

I couldn't believe that it had been there in my ear, but I could sure hear well afterwards.

I would put a Q-tip in Hydrogen Peroxide and clean my ear with that, letting it work for a few minutes as it will soften the wax allowing the wax to be removed with a clean dry Q-tip. It will also kill any bacteria and germs entrapped in the ear canal by the hardened wax. You may have to use it a few times to get all the wax out.

There are various wax removing ear drops (like Debrox) in the (of all things) eye drop section of your local drug store. If you need help, ask the pharnacist for a recommendation.

Use an ear syringe to flush out the ear (available in the same section,) less dangerous than a Q-tip

The best way is to see a doctor who will remove it safely and professionally.

mineral oil disolves earwax, but you'll need something (q-tips) to get it out and dry your ears.
