Basically, I've heard that Thailand is a brilliant place to visit. So me and my friend have decided to go over easter. I was wondering how much flights were as we're looking to go for 7 days before returning to the UK.

Also, we're looking to really get a piece of the nightlife, so we're looking to go out most of those nights. I was told beach huts are quite affordable to stay in of a night. how much will it cost per night to stay?

Where is the best place to stay in Thailand which is affordable to stay in and to go out in?. And how much spending money will I need if I'm planning to hit the bars drinking most nights?

Aswell as going out of a night, we're also looking to pick up a bit of culture and obviously eat different types of meals and visit different places (quite local to where we're staying) so how much will I need to spend out there basically for all this?

I went with my daughter for 9 weeks and I took £800 I still had money when I came home.
Book your hotel when you get over there it will be so much cheaper.
Head to Silom Road area it's cool.

Do you want to go to the coast or Bangkok. Basically the cultural sites are in the capital; ghe coastal esorts for chilling. But Bangkok has a good cross seciont of cculture and nightlife
Try self-catering for an affordable break. Residence Rajatavee is a good choice - near good shopping centres and not far bron the historic and 'fun' places. Also convenient for public transport. 1-bed flat costs about #15 a night - lots of cheap restaurants nearby!(check Asia Travel.com For Easter you're looking at #450 for a return flight (maybe less if you're lucky - try Seewoo Travel (Mr. Kar - very helpful! or Lee Travel.)

7 days is not long enough. If you are going from the UK - 2 of those days will be spent travelling. It is very cheap out there however.

Beach & Sun - Krabi, Koh Samui, Koh Pang Yan
Sordid - Pattaya

I went for 3 weeks over Xmas 2 years ago and spent £1000 in total - this included flights and accommodation

Check out etihadairways.com for cheap flights to Bangkok from London. I flew with them at Christmas. I wrote a review here

In terms of your costs, it all depends on where you go in Thailand and how posh you want to be. If you want to be at the beach and have nightlife, I'd suggest you head to Koh Samui or go to Patong Beach in Phuket. You can fly to both from Bangkok

At both places you should be able to find decent accommodation for less than 1000 Baht a night (around 15 UKP) - you can probably find cheaper, but it's good to have some surplus budget. It depends on what you consider to be acceptable. Have a read of Lonely Planet Thailand and browse sites like Hostelworld.com and Thailand-Hotel-Deals.com to get an idea of prices and what you get for your money.

Similarly, expect to pay around 300 Baht (4 UKP) for breakfast and lunch, and twice that for dinner, assuming you want to eat at restaurants rather than just snacks, Drinks are pretty cheap - a bottled beer in a bar is typically 70 baht or so (1 UKP), spirits are a bit more. They are really cheap from the local stores - about half the price. Again, it depends where you go - the pavement bars etc will be much cheaper than the ritzy nightclubs. As such, if you really go for it in an evening, you will probably find it hard to spend more than 20 / 30 quid on drinks. If you start buying drinks for women, it will get a lot more expensive ;-)

Remember to budget for domestic flights from Bangkok to Phuket or Samui - they will be around 60 quid. Check AirAsia.com and BangkokAir.com for prices and to make bookings

If you want culture, check out the article I wrote about things to do do in Thailand. Daytrips to places like the Bridge over the River Kwai will cost you around 1500 baht (25 UKP)

As you only have 7 days in Thailand, and two of those will be spent travelling to/from whichever beach you decide on, I'd say it's probably best to stay in one place and enjoy it

go to pattaya. there are tons of cheap accomodation options. shouldn't have to pay more than 400 baht a night for the cheaper places. ladies go for 1,000 baht a night. they can be anything you want them to be. to take a girl out of the bar is at least 200 baht(but you won't have to pay this if you take out freelancers(they are everywhere). just remember not to send money to any girls on any condition.

thai food is cheap and tasty. you can get it from food stalls and street vendors for as little as 25 baht a dish. there is also western food, but it is more expensive.

you should really spend more than 7 days. thailand is truly a man's paradise and you won't want to leave. have fun.

DO NOT GO TO PATTAYA. IT IS LIKE MORECAMBE WITH BROTHELS

Also the smell of exhaust fumes in Bangkok can be very oppressive. My overriding memory of Thailand is the friendliness of the people.

Other than airfare, budget about 100 quids a day to cover your daily expenses should suffice.
