Hey vrltt,

Which State? New Hampshire , Ohio, or Virginia?

The general answer is the same, but some of the web sites are different.

If you know who the funeral director was, speak to them. They, in turn, may be able to find out who is the custodian of the will.

It is normal practise to declare in the will how your want your body to be dealt with, burial or cremation.

It may be your grandfathers solicitor (usual practise) or some banks provide a wills service.

p.s. I was married at Portsmouth Registry Office.

Don't people register wills with a solicitor? I know that's where mine is. Do you have any way of finding out who his solicitors were? If not ask the CAB for advice. They'll know what to do.
Good luck and sorry to hear of your daughter's loss.
