Get to know Alex. You might find all those rumors are surly true. How do you know he doesn't like you too if you've only talked to him once?? YOu'll know for sure and stop being so shy. Solving to problems with one solution.

I rather like the hurdle scenero... but shyness is not a really very attractive trait. It can be taken as pretense and coyness.... and lead to behaving like a 'scaried cat'. If you are going to be afraid be sure of what you are afraid of is worth it. You will miss wonderful interactions because you want someone to take care of you. That's nice to know you want someone but being shy is almost as unattractive as being too forward. I hope I didn't scold you too much.... just work on the hurdle and all he can say is no. That don't hurt too much. At least he will know the meaning of the word no.... see? You write pretty well so put the shyness behind and have some fun.

Hmm, tough. Keep in mind though that you are in school, this should be the time of your life and there is no need for just one BF. You can date whom ever nothing has to be exclusive. Trust me when I say you have all the time in the world for that. Date both, talk to Alex and begin a friendship. Do not confuse this with being...let me say "easy" I am not saying go and "be with" both all I am saying is go on dates "fun" dates where you get to laugh and play! sweetie you never want to narrow your fun! When you are old enough to understand the meaning of "exclusive" relationships and can take on all the choas that comes with it, you will then realize just how important it is to be a young woman with all the fun in the world to have, in the mean time just be a young woman with her options open to only moments of pure fun with guys you like to flirt with!

Force yourself to have a "stupid" moment and touch him. It could be something as silly as grabbing his hand, or tugging on his sleeve. But once you do that, suddenly you're no longer able to run away. There you go, shy-hurdle hurdled.

You only have to be brave for about half a second. You can do that, can't you?

This is much bigger than just talking to a boy. All through your life you're going to have to interact and start conversation with strangers. As a result, being able to conquer your shyness when you need to is important for you! Consider it an exercise in your social skills.

Maybe neither. You sound too young to be concerned with who you're "talking to." Just relax and make friends with them. You're not stupid for being shy. It's a way for your subconscious to tell you to take it slow.
