Virgil's Root Beer is hands down the best I have ever tasted. There are several other small manufactures that also make very good root beer like Hansen's. After that I would have to say: IBC, A&W, Dads, and Barqs all tie after that.

Growing up, I always preferred Mug Root Beer over any others. A & W was second. Now, as I have aged, I cannot stand Root Beer.

The only way A&W can beat Dad's is if you stop by an A&W restaurant and get a frosty mug of A&W, and that's really no way to win is it? Dad's has been the best for years and years.

The best by far is Henry Weinharts Root Beer. It is made with honey.

ibc is the best,,,, unless you go to the restaurant a and w ,,,they make it themselves and in a frosty mug it rules

i love a&w, but my boyfriend loves ibc. i also love the old fashioned types in the glass bottles!!!
