When their eyes are open and they are standing, they will usually start drinking water. Until then, their main source of nutrition is from their mother.

Please have your dog spayed after her litter is out of the house! If you have to ask these kinds of questions, you have no business breeding your dog!

If the puppies are nursing, they don't need water until they are weaning, usually around four weeks old. Before then, they are often bottle fed if they aren't nursing from the mother and the formula is all they need until they are ready to wean. Most people make a gruel or mush for the puppies using water and dog food at about four weeks if the mother has started weaning them or if they have been bottle feeding, and at this time the pups need plenty of fresh water always available.

The puppy only needs to be alive to drink water. Age doesn't matter.

Leave water available to them as you are weaning them which can start around 3 weeks. If you have bred your dog on purpose you need to do more research on the care of the puppies and the mother before this happens again or just leave it to professional breeders which I recommend.
