I think you're ok because it's likely the driver just cursed you a little and didn't bother to memorize your license plate number. Make sure to stop next time!

Here in Maryland you must stop 10ft from the school bus once the RED lights are activated and the stop sign is out. At least here a police officer must witness a moving violation occuring for a citation to be issued. Cameras can issue citations however they usually dont include points, which will affect your insurance. Furthermore the bus driver probaly called in your tag, no camera, and you may get an informal warning but not an actual ticket. If you do get a ticket take it to court and argue that the lights on the bus were not red when you initated the pass. On another note you should be careful around school buses.

OK your young and a fairly new driver, wether or not you get a ticket is not important, what is important here is that you learn from this. I lost a very dear Friend who was hit by someone who didn't;t bother to even slow down for the school bus, let alone stop. You need to be cautious around school buses, if they're stopped on the side of the road and don't have their lights flashing, SLOW DOWN, give them the widest berth you can while passing. When you see a buss slowing down to stop, Do not race past it, the kid you save might be your own some day.

Were you paying any attention when you took your driving classes (theory)? Never, never pass a school bus, the fines are very high and there is a legitimate and good reason for that. I suggest you go back to review your book.

Learn from your mistakes by not repeating them again and review your book. You will find additional information that you overlooked. If you do not shape-up your parents will take away all privileges. I know I will if I was your mom. Keep in mind that accidents are preventable.

You have been actual spectacular and you probably did obey the regulation. whilst a bust flashes it fairly is yellow lighting fixtures this implies site visitors on the two facets are assume to decelerate or prepare to end. whilst a end sign comes out and is pink, the two facets of site visitors (no rely how many lanes there are ) are by using regulation to end. little ones dart out from everywhere in the bus (the two to and from) and regrettably little ones die each or exchange into injured because of this. it is why in the back of the guidelines. not assorted human beings be attentive to this yet a bus driving force can write the plates of the automobile in maximum states and record this to the police. the guy who broke the regulation could likely get a quotation interior the mail. you probably did the properly suited element and that i thank you for conserving the roads risk-free for my son who take a bus :)

If the driver reported your tag # it may be several weeks before you get a summons. I drove a bus years ago and they sent out summonses once a quarter. We had to appear and testify so they wanted to get them all through on the same day. If the driver didn't report your tag # you'll get a slide on this one.

BUT, you need to pay closer attention to your driving. Not seeing the flashing lights on a school bus is inexcusable. Whatever you were paying attention to was certainly not driving.

Use this "sweat time" to practice paying closer attention to the task at hand: DRIVING SAFELY.

What state?????????Some states have a court date written on the citation..Be careful, read it over carefully. If there is a court date on the ticket and you miss it you will be screwed..I live in Mass. ..I had a similar experiance some years ago. ( thank God it was not a school bus) Didn't open my eyes ,missed the court date, cost me a lot..If you have any questions go to your local court house and ask the clerk of court. They will help you. Don't be frightened. We all screw up every now and then...Watch out for those big yellow things........

Oops.

I doubt you'll hear anything about it. It would cost too much to put cameras in all the school busses to catch you.

Here in CA. it cost $480 to pass a school bus if you get caught.
I know, because it happened to me.

The stupid bus was in a parking lot of a convenience store on the other side of the street, and I got pulled over for passing.

Keep your fingers crossed for two months.
