I'd say that if he's too shy to talk to you, then you're probably not gonna like him after you do. I don't know any girls that would like to have a lousy-*** guy around and to have to do the things that he's scared to do. I mean, he's the man, he should take the risks.
On the other hand, maybe he's not shy at all. Maybe he's not interested. Or maybe he's interested and waiting for you to go talk to him.
Either way, I say: Go talk to him. Then you'll have a choice. You'll see if he is or isn't shy, and decide whether to keep him or not.
Daring? Yea you are, but that's ok. It's just who you are. You're doing what you wanna do. Going for what you want. It's a great quality.

You are daring, and most guys don't like that. Usually, I like to be the one to initiate conversation and such, SO BACK OFF. Leave a homie alone ya know?

If he's too shy to talk to you first, then it sounds like the ONLY way to get to talk to him is to address him first.

As long as you don' t push an agenda, (I want to be your g/f) just talking to him is probably fine.
Most guys don't mind a conversation, but they like to be the one to "take things to the next level".
