I love to eat period. I really dont saty away from junk food. My mom says I can eat whatever I want because im young and I am still growing. I am 18 years old 175 pounds and 6 feet tall . Like I was saying my mom is pretty much telling me to go ahead and eat, she says that I am still growing. I like my weight right now I am not really to skinny not to fat either, I dont really work out that much. But is not like the only thing I eat is junk food I eat fruit, vegetables, and I drink a cup of whole milk daily. I was thinking that I would start watching what I eat when I am 21 thats when you stop growing, I guess? What do you think should I start watching what I eat or should I keep my habit of eating in the morning, afternoon, night and midnight?

Studies have been done that suggest that lots of small meals during a 24 hour period are better for us people than 3 major ones- which is the normal pattern in the United States at least.

You might keep growing after you're 21: Some guys do. But get used to watching what you eat: Sooner or later, you won't have the blazing metabolism of youth.

Its like this. If you started putting a 100 bucks a month away in a good investment now, with compound interest, by the time you're 65ish you'd have a million bucks there, easy. But if you only started when you're 21 or 25 you'd have to put in about 150 a month to get the same healthy balance when you retire. Your body is the same, you could only start eating better later, but you're gonna have to put alot more effort into it by then to end up in a good position without ailments and aches and pains when you're older. And don't forget that junk food has alot of bad preservatives and colourants and even carcinogens that good food doesn't. Ever looked up what those E... numbers mean that are listed in the ingredients? Scary stuff. And read Fast Food Nation and stuff by Patrick Holford.

Well if your weight's fine, you don't need to adjust the amount of food you eat, but it's never a good idea to eat a lot of junk food. You could be a lot healthier if you ate more "healthy" foods, with lots of fruits and veggies, less fast food and sugary foods, etc.

On a side note... how do you drink whole milk?! I've always been a fat free or 2% kind of person, so I just can't imagine drinking straight whole milk....

Great for you that you currently have a good metabolism and it burns off the food you eat quickly, BUT, to maintain a level of health you need to eat right. You should have started eating right from the start, but since you didn't you should start today. "Junk" is fun sometimes, but is not sustaining in the long run.

You're lucky, when I was your age, my metabolism was high too. I can still eat pretty well, but I have to be little careful now. I am 5 foot 4 and I weigh about 112. (I am 36 years old)
If you start gaining, just cut back or exercise more.

Enjoy it!
