Great slavic boxers fight and are appreciated in mma....
1. Fedor
2. Mirko
3. Igor Vovchanchyn
4. Kharitonov
5. Zentsov
6. Alexsander E
.....

It is so good that mma fans appreciate who the true "thugs" and badasses are. Obvously Oleg, Wladimir, and Valuev are not appreciated in this country because many boxing fans are racially motivated. This is why many people claim HW boxing is dead, but they are wrong. It is alive and well amongst the slavic brotherhood....Who else is happy mma is taking over and why?

I like both boxing and MMA. I agree the Russian fighters are the best in the heavyweight division of boxing today. No question in that. Give respect where respect is due. There are a lot of fans out there who base their opinions on race, nationality, etc. They are ignorant though and not worth talking about.

No, MMA has not quite replaced boxing in popularity. How can we be sure? Well, it's pretty straightforward: a) compare the amount of money and other commercial entities generated and consumed by the PAYING public from boxing events and MMA events. Boxing leads. b) compare the media and public attraction drawn by each sport worldwide. Boxing leads. (the key word here is "worldwide," not "some states in the U.S.") c) compare the status/recognition that elite boxers attain to the status held by elite MMA fighters. It's still boxing--not even close. As a sport, boxing is already relevant--it has been so for many, many decades whereas MMA is still relatively "new" and trying to gain acceptance around the world. How can we make it more relevant? By cleaning up the ranking system and the governing bodies. By making fights happen as a result of merit/standing, not only by the whims of promoters and individual fighters, and the lure of big bucks.

As much as I love mma, I think it's going to take a while for it to replace boxing(if it replaces it. It's impossible.) It's two different sports. HW boxing is in decline but lower division is great. There are still exciting fighters out there. MMA is on the rise. Fedor and Mikco Crocop are my two favourite MMA fighters...I just wished they're going to fight for the belt but it's highly unlikely now since Mirko signed in the UFC.

Boxing is not dead. The Heavyweight division might be a little stale, but the lower weight classes are filled with great fighters.

it wont replace boxing, i like chuck liddel though, damn that man have little facial expression, except when he got hit offcourse, it is easy to hurt someone and for someone to hurt you if youre allowed many weapons, but try doing that using only your two fist, thats the attraction that boxing has, mma is fun though and more brutal

BOXING WILL NOT BE REPLACED BY MMA. YOU WILL BE REPLACED ONCE I PROVE THAT YOU ARE USING MULTIPLE PROFILE AVATARS. HE WHO LAUGHS LAST LAUGHS BEST.
