It is because some people just don't believe what they see. I suppose that it is not because they feel threatened, it is just they are presuming that the relationship is not based on "love" but rather on what the young woman could financially gain from the relationship. People usually brand young women with older (especially very old) men to be social climbers or opportunists (for money). Shows you how prejudiced people are though sometimes more than half a time, the prejudices are right.

No probably not jealous but upset at the older guy for dating somene so young when there are avalible women his age. I agree with sexton that they think young women are too immature when infact they do not know the woman herself. They need to realize that if you think it is okay for you to date a 19 year old boy then why is it not okay for a older guy to do so aswell.

some tend to be threatened that us younger ones are supposedly stealing older men which is the most crap i've ever heard of.... I have dealt with certain women on this issue and they acted as though I wasn't worth a relationship with a older man because i'm young and I have had no problem with telling them ones straight where to go :) :) :)

It depends on the older women themselves.

An older man with a younger woman doesn't seem like much of a prize to me. In 99 out of 100 cases, he's spending his money on arm candy. That's one shallow, insecure man, and if that's what he's looking for...I would prefer he look for it elsewhere and leave me out of his issues!

I think it depends on the age gap but, if there is a large gap then in a way it's kind of sick to think how old the younger ladie was if you go ten years back.

It seems that the current trend (or maybe always has been) is
to search for youth and in all the stories you hear how HE left her
for a younger woman.... maybe therein lies your answer...
