no matter what people say some things do matter when it comes to building a stable relationship and for me religion is one of them...i think you can get over ethnic and cultural differences but religious and educational differences are hard to overcome...but i think it depends on how strongly you feel about your religion...i am a catholic, although i don't really go to church or anything, and once i dated a christian guy who was very involved in his religion and church...and it was a disaster...at first i even went to his church with him seeing it was so important for him and tried not to let it interfere in our relationship but in the long run it didn't work...if you are not very involved and he's not very involved it might work but if one or both of you feel strongly about your religion forget it...what are you gonna do when you have kids?...and even if catholics believe in Jesus, christians do not believe in the virgin mary and in other fundamentals of the catholic faith, which makes them sort of incompatible...

Well if you don't care about religion....then how can you call yourself a Christian?

Also it's Catholic not cathlic. (grammer please.....my tax money doesn't want to be spent on illiteraty).

And if you were a Christian and followed God's commands you would have read the Bible and understood what God wants. He does explicity tell us that Chrisitans are to be yoked with other Chrisitians.

And those ignorant people that believe that Catholics are Christians are sooooo ignorant...I was raised a Catholic and I see now how Catacism is completely different from being a Christian....the only similarity is that we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Jesus Christ.

I'm in the same boat but reversed.

FIRST thing you must know is that you are both freaking Christian. What you are are different DENOMINATIONS. You both pray to the same guy.

It is fine to date...man what is this like Palestine? You can't date outside your religion let alone denomination?

You make "finding out that he is Catholic" sound like you just found out he had an STD or something. This is how wars get started. I don't understand why you are upset. If you say religion race, and looks don't matter, then why the freaking out?

I agree though, Catholics are a little out there for me.

Yeah, I don't see any problem either. Catholics and Protestants have pretty much the same belief system. "Christians" or Protestants broke off from the Catholic church. I don't think it's dogma that Catholics only date Catholics. Good luck!!!

Catholics ARE Christians. What kind of church do you go to, that they don't teach these fundamentals?

A Christian believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only Way to Eternal Salvation. Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc ALL believe this.

It is totally OK to date some one outside your religion. The only tough part is if you two decide to get married, then you really have to talk about it, until then have fun and enjoy having each other!

Catholics were the first Christians... If you are one of these holy roller Pentecostal spinoff types it may make a difference...

Catholics are Christians. What's the problem?

The great irony of your question is the Catholics are supposed to be christians but most of them are hypocrites.
If its love, it knows no boundries.
go for it.
