Here are a few reasons why that could have happened.
If his voice is......

High pitched - He walked into the corner of a table on New Years Eve, and got slightly damaged....

Slightly camp - He had one two many glasses of mulled wine and realised your pink thongs he tried on for a laugh, are actually quite comfortable.....

Deep - He got too excited when somebody got him a new, cashmere scarf for xmas and is now trying to reclaim his manliness back.

Slightly opera-like - He watched too many re-runs of "The snowman" at christmas and has now become Aled Jones' number one fan.
