If you're planning to take advantage of excursions and buy souvenirs at every chance...you'll probably need at least 300 per person.

We just went on a Carnival Cruise last year and spent about $400/person extra for the week. That included excurions, drinks, gratuities and souvenirs. We charged everything to the room and then it was charged to the credit card. We didn't have to worry about carrying a lot of cash with us and then paid the credit card off as soon as the bill came.

Have fun!

well when you are on a cruise you dont use cash, you use a ship card they give you to buy stuff and that is attached to a credit card that you give them prior to the cruise. But it all depends on where you are going, i would say that 500 bucks is enough for spending money in port. Have fun!!

Well as many people have said on the boat you'll use ship debit cards that are attached to your credit card. At the park I would just plan on carrying a little for food perhaps--souvenirs and things should accept your credit/debit also. So perhaps $15 per person per day? My husband and I bought travelers checks that the boat cashed for us as we needed them. We also only carried only the debit card with us and left everything else other than basic i.d. in the ship's safety deposit boxes at the purser's desk.

You will have the option of placing all your charges on the boat including the optional excursions on your credit card. So you might need spending money to buy souvenirs only when you are on land or if you choose to go for a meal/drinks at a local place.

Just a warning...I'm not answering properly but my friend went on a different cruise and they kept adding things on there cruise card and owed $1300-1500. They added drinks and lots of other things (obviously) to the tab. Have Fun!!
