If you are talking about the AKC:

A purebred dog is eligible for AKC registration if its litter has been registered. When you purchase a dog said to be AKC-registrable, you should get an individual Dog Registration Application from the seller. Once the application has been completed, you should submit it to the AKC with the proper fee. You can also register a dog online. In about three weeks, you will receive your dog's AKC Registration Certificate. When your puppy is registered, you can take advantage of the AKC Pet Healthcare Plan with an introductory 60 days pet healthcare insurance at no-cost to you.

If you are talking about the AKC, the breeder had to have registered the litter, and then gives you an "application for registration" that you fill out and send in along with the fee.

If the breeder didn't register the litter, or it is not registrable, you cannot register with AKC.

I have no idea how any of the other registries work, because they are fake and not reputable.

Unless the breeder the breeder registered the litter and gae you a registration application you can't.
Don't waste your time or money on scam registries such as aca, ckc(continentel kennel club or canine kennel club), National Pet registry, National Dog Registry, World wide, etc.

You need the AKC registration information for the mother and father of the litter. Usually the female owner gets blank registration forms from the AKC based on how many pups were born and the M/F mix. Then the owner of the female gives a blank form to each purchaser of a puppy. You might see if they applied for these forms... or if not, get the AKC registration number from the male and female that were bred and apply yourself.

Both doggie parents have to be registered and you must go back to the breeder and find that out first. There are papers to fill out and send to the AKC (US) or CKC (Canada).

Chances are if you bought her and she was not registered she wont be.

Where did you get her? If you got her from the breeder or pet store, they should be able to supply you with all your paperwork. What I have found is, I paid $100 for a male AKC shizu. For $100, she wouldn't hand over the necessary papers but if I paid $800 for the same dog, then I'd get the papers.

If you don't plan on showing her, or breeding her... I wouldn't waste the money. Registering her does nothing for either one of you unless you plan on doing one or both of those things. I chose NOT to register my Dane for those reasons. All it does is give you bragging rights... but for what, lol?

If you want to spend money on her... have her tattooed or chipped. You can then buy her a lifetime license which saves you money in the longrun instead of buying her an annual license (assuming dogs have to have a license in your area).
