Well the first step is recognizing that you want to change, which you have already done by asking this question.

The next step is to put together a realistic plan to achieve these changes, including a timetable and ensuring you have the support system to help you through it. This could include friends, family, online support (dieting etc).

Because you didn't list the specific lifestyle change, I would say you should also look online for groups that have successfully done what you'd like to do, and they can provide more specific advice and support on what works and what doesn't.

This will maximize your chances of success.

Best of luck to you!

First of all! Change your enviroment! That will change your feelings. Throw something out that was very important for the old you! Write the exact time when you start your new life in a big peace of paper and put it above your bed! Lets find a (new) hobby. Sports are quite good! Try to get people around you who are free from your old bad and ugly habbits they will help.
You have to believe you can do it!

Yes, stubborn bad habits are hard to break, but it can be done.
You have to ask yourself, who is in control of my life, my self or my habit(s).
Try to come up with a positive activity to replace the bad habit.
Ask a good friend to help you, by holding you accountable. Good luck with breaking it - it is your future life you are talking about.
