You're being scammed.

Why would you buy a dog you've never seen in person before in the first place? Who knows what's going on.

Responsible breeders always sell with a written contract and guarantee, and INSIST that you stay in contact and keep them uptodate on your current address and contact info.

I have heard of this. I've known people to order dogs off line from a breeder they will be shipped to them.

My advice, find a local breeder or one you don't mind visiting. You want a FULL tour of the facility, not just what they want you to see. A reputible breeder will be happy and proud to show off the facility and all the dogs. Get references, and contact them. Ask questions YOU are concerned about. Shedding, illness, etc. Make sure the dog has papers, ask about food, vaccinations, etc. How long has the breeder been breeding? You want one that has a smaller breeding facility, the bytch should be having puppies once MAYBE twice a year for a limited amount of time before retirment because even dogs need time to recover and speak w/ your vet first about the findings you have discovered.

Most breeders want to interview YOU. A good breeder will want a good loving home that can afford to have a dog. Be prepared to answer some questions.

DO NOT send money to someone you have never met, for a dog you have never seen from a facility that may not exist.

I assume you mean "reputable."

I have found very little online that can beat the information in the book Your Purebred Puppy by Michele Lowell when it comes to researching breeders. It provides questions to ask of breeders, then follow-up questions based on possible answers the breeder will give you - it's idiot proof!

Whomever you contacted is NOT a reputable breeder. I find it very difficult to believe that you would get any puppy at all (why a money wire and no check or even cashier's check?), let alone so quickly after you send the money.

Don't do it!!!!

No reputable breeder would allow this. They would require you to visit the dog in person and screen you. You'll either lose your money and never get a dog, or you're buying from a puppy mill that doesn't want you to see the horrible conditions the dogs are living in, and you might get a dog, but it will be a skinny, diseased creature that will die on you in a matter of days.

Don't even bother asking them questions- this is NOT a good breeder. Simple as that.

NO! NO! NO!
There are sooooo many ways this could go wrong! Do not buy a puppy unless you can actually see the place where they were raised. If this is an actual breeder (and not a scam) then I can pretty well guaran-damn-tee you that it's a puppy mill.

We cannot be replicated, we are all unique.

That said, there are many puppy scams where you are supposed to send a money order. This sounds like one of them.

Buy a pup from someone you can meet and get to know them and the puppies.

Don't buy from backyard breeders or puppy mills. People on these sites breed for profit. DON'T DO IT. CONTACT THE BREED CLUB FOR A BREEDER REFERAL.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! There are SO many scams running! Do a search on Answers "puppy scam" and see what you get - "Help, I sent money for a puppy and never got it"

Look for a reputible breeder in your area (AKC.org). NEVER buy a puppy sight-unseen! Make sure you get references on the breeder and check them out.

I'd be scared......what are they gonna do.......mail you the dog without any food or water. If they were a good breeder, then it seems that they would offer to meet you halfway. You can also ask them for references, and also ask for the pedigree of both parents of the puppy.......to make sure it's full blooded. Best of luck to you.
