I would just use your colors as your theme. If you have a certain flower already picked out that you're doing for your bouquet, then you could use that as well. Here are some ideas for you:

You really do not need a theme. You have a color scheme in place and that's all you really need. The theme of a wedding shouldn't be "Cinderella" or "Stars and Stripes." The theme of a wedding is MARRIAGE. I have seen too many weddings where the bride went completely insane with a "theme," and it ended up looking totally overdone. If you are in love with a certain color or flower, for course it can be sprinkled about your wedding, here and there, but it doesn't have to cover everything. I think you are just fine with your colors, you don't need more than that.

Don't do a theme. (and I'm not knocking themes, I just don't think it's for you.)

Obviously it's not "you" or you would have thought of one. Themes come from obvious choices that fit you and your finace's personality. People "get" why you have the theme. If you have to "come up with one" then it will seem phony and cheesy.

Having a color palatte & a feel for the type of flowers that you want, will go a long way in setting the "mood" - formal, casual, party, etc. That's all you really need. Once you decide on the mood you want, then you can decorate furthur.

But themes can really come off as very "kid birthday party" if not done exceedingly well. This is your wedding not your "Super Sweet 16." lol

I'm studying to be a wedding consultant/planner, so I can really help!! Is it indoors or out? Your theme can include your entire wedding or just your reception. Pink, black and white are really cool colors to work with because you can go with a neat "I Love Lucy-esk" theme or a night club theme, a girly theme or just about anything you want. Themes are necessary. You can have one, or not. Its really a personal preference. You can e-mail me at whoamiinside@yahoo.com or you can check out this really great website www.theknot.com its all about weddings and its the best I've found so far ^_^!!!!

I don't know how old you are but pink white and black put me in the mind of the 1930's with the poddle skirts and the bobby socks I bet that would be different a 30's theme just a thought.

My fiance and I are getting married in June, and our theme is a linked double heart. Alot of our items in the wedding, including our invitations have that design on it. It's turning out great. But it's your choice wether or not to have a "theme" for your wedding. Many weddings ive been to have had one, also many have not.

Good Luck! :)

My colors are also pink, black, and white....my fiancee and I are big Rat Pack fans. So, we're having a retro 60's wedding. We're going to play Rat Pack music during dinner and for our first dance. The dresses I picked out for myself and for my bridesmaids are retro looking....its all about the retro 60's look.

By the way, Poodle Skirts were in the 50's, not the 30's.

themes just mean a general overall idea. they can be colors...black & white or pink& cream or can be themed by idea...such as beach-themed or romantic-themed. mine is also in black and white....the only theme I have is that things are either in black or white....except that my cake is in tiffany blue. go with complimentay colors like pink or baby blue if you want but if you want to stick with your theme, then just have it cross over into every aspect of your wedding. example: bridesmaid dresses, flowers, reception colors etc. My only piece of advice is...if your going to go with black and white, stick to classy ideas. black and white should be a formal, black-tie affair so make sure that everything is full of drama and sophistication.
good luck!
