Wow. Talk about killing the flavor of a nice piece of Talapia. I wouldn't bread a nice tasting fish like that, plus you probably paid a good buck for it. Bread sole or flounder. Grill talapia and bring out the natural flavor, don't bread it and kill the taste.
Now, if you feel compelled to coat it with something, use an egg wash and coat it with crushed pecans.

Where I work we grill our talapia and Im sure you could dip it into butter and coat it in bread crumbs and grill it. You could also probably bake it the same way. Its really good with some cajun seasoning and some salsa, I like it with that, you just need to drain out the salsa before serving it with it.

Sure, you can dip it into butter and then into seasoned bread crumbs. All you need is some kind of 'wet' something so the crumbs will adhere. But, what would be better is : I would suggest to dust with flour, seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, then dip into beaten eggs and then into bread or corn flake crumbs. Bake or fry. Yum.

Nope you have to brush on or dip the fish pieces in some eggwash
( battered eggs) before you coat them with the bread crumbs. that
makes the bread crumbs stick to the fish. then you can fry fry away.

Don't dip it in butter, dip it in egg. Or you can just dip in it water or milk. Season the breadcrumbs, though. Plain bread crumbs are boring as hell...

... only if you like raw Talapia dipped in butter and bread crumbs...
... you might want to add the cooking part to that recipe.
:)

That works. This is my favorite way to cook Tilapia:
I season it with Lemon Pepper & Salt
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan
Place the fish in the pan and let it brown slightly
Pour in 1 teaspoon of lemon & white wine
Then flip and repeat.
My boyfriend loves it and he is not a big fish eater.
