Supposedly it will be out on January 30. I wouldn't buy it right away - I'd wait until everyone else tests it out and find all the security holes and bugs first. When Microsoft releases the first service pack to fix the bugs is when I'd buy it.

Last November, a Microsoft representative told me that the new Vista will become available at the end of this month. However, he also added...and I thought this was something coming out of the mouth of a gentleman who was part of the team planning its debut....not to buy it until it was at least out for three, preferably four months. It generally takes that long to get out all the bugs. He felt by then it would definitely be worth buying.

Vista will be released to the public on or about January 30. As to whether it's worth it, no one can tell you that. The people who tried the trial or Beta Version in 2006, can't because the full version won't be the same.
My computer tech said he wouldn't pay a dime for it. I trust him to know what he's doing.

what i hear, it's supposed to make XP and all the others before it obsolite. i don't know if that's the case though. but what i've read, i don't really like it. i just like the 3D windows (you can flip a window on it's side.) i haven't experienced it. and the first PC's with Vista should be coming out Jan 31 2007

I believe I read that it comes out at the end of this month and NO it is not worth buying.

but if you dont have a really good pc then dont buy it. but most people are going to be fine with windows xp for a few more years. when SP3 for XP comes out windows will be heaps better.

I believe it's set to release in March...however, my computer guru friend said it really sucks...
not user friendly at all....says to make a simple change....it takes so many many steps.
