No more so than gasoline, acetone, lacquer thinner, nitrous oxide...or Ethel alcohol (all available legally), which, when ingested by the human body, changes normal perception in some manner. The absolute magic of marijuana is it's uncanny ability to create billions in local revenue and personal government control over individuals. In that respect it is the best DRUG around...

In the legal world, marijuana is considered a drug, but let's be realistic...How can something that grows in the dirt be considered a drug. It's all natural just like dandelions. People use dandelions to make wine, and when people drink this they get an altered state of mind, but no one has outlawed dandelions. I don't believe it should be considered an illegal drug, and I am in law enforcement.

Well, the term killer drug limits the field consderably, and if that's the definition you want to use, then certainly it is not. In fact, it's less of a killer drug than alcohol is. You can't OD on marijuana (at least I've never heard of it happening), but you can die of alcohol poisoning relatively quickly. That's why alcohol makes you puke and MJ doesn't (mostly).

Generally I find that comparing MJ to alcohol debunks most of the rationale for MJ's illegality:
gateway drug --> so is alcohol
ruins lives --> so does alcohol
bad for physical health --> so is alcohol
etc, etc.

Of course it's a drug, although I think tabacco and alcohol are likely worse drugs. The bad thing about MJ is that is can have different reactions in different people, some becoming very agressive and others very depressed. There is also no real benefits, unless you are trying to ease pain.

Alot of people consider weed a drug while others do not. I'm undecided myself. I don't feel it's a killer drug. I've never heard about a weed overdose or just anyone dying from it.

marijuana is a drug, like many others. the problem with marijuana is that the main ingredient THC, is found in much greater concentrations than when it was smoked in the 1960's. It is commonly knows as a "gateway" drug meaning that it's use is a gateway for other more dangerous and addictive drugs such as cocaine, heroin, crystal meth

You can't choose a best answer in 15 minutes. I watched a documentary on A&E about how MJ became illegal, very enlightening, no doubt if Uncle Scam could control distribution and tax it you would see it next to Jack Daniels & cigarettes at your local market

a drug is anything that influences the way your mind and body work so yes it is a drug. A dangerous drug, no, but a drug nonetheless

Yes, I consider marijuana a drug. I think that it can be considered dangerous in certain "indirect" situations.

Marijuana is actually a weed called Cannabis Sativa. It is a plant, not a drug. One can argue that cocaine is actually a plant as well, however, cocaine is a by-product of a plant. Marijiana is natural in it's form with no creation by man needed.
