I just started talking to this guy (3 weeks) and he told me today that his ex-girlfriend came to him a week ago and said she was pregnant and the child is his. He says he has not made a decision on what he is going to do yet because he is still in shock.
I really like this guy but I don't know if it is worth it to stay.

So, you're still on a friend-basis. You're not dating yet?

First, right now, if he trusts you - he may need someone like you that he can talk to.

Second of all, some men learn from their mistakes and own up to thier actions. If the baby is his (I'd suggest a paternity test to make sure) and he accepts responsbility - I think that's a great characteristic for a guy.

Take you time and be patient. If it's meant to be, it'll be.

Since the guy you like has a ex who is expecting and does not know what is going to do , should think about and get back to you as soon as possible so you can figure out if you need to move on if he plans to be there but date you. In my opinion you could let him go and find someone else if you feel comfortable doing that, just tell him why you are doing it. You have to figure out what you want and is it worth going after if you know what I mean. Once you have done that your other decision will be much easier to determine. It would not hurt to find out if he has made a decision yet, if not then do what you feel you have to.

Whether or not he is worth it is up to you to judge. I do think that he should get credit for being upfront about the situation with his ex. That said, it you continue into a relationship with this man, you also move into a relationship with his ex if she is indeed carrying his child. You will always have to deal with her as long as you are with him. Your plans may be sometimes subject to her moods, drama, or whims. She may also be a real peach. You may end up helping her and the father raise this child. The future has the potential to be a dream, the best example of what could be, or a nightmare. Tread very lightly and give the situation a lot of time and consideration. Above all else, don't add another baby to the mix.

That's a hard choice. For one thing, the guy is going to be a father, does that bother you? You have to think about that. It's always possible his ex-girlfriend is lying too. Give him time. He's probably in a huge state of shock. If all goes well, he is going to be a father. I wouldn't leave him yet.

Well firstly, you guys aren't dating so really it shouldn't be bothering you......however, if you are seeing this guy as a potential bf, it might be best to think about a) whether you can deal with him having a baby in his life and b) whether you want to even try and pursue a relationship with this guy.
