How long does it take you to love someone?

I know it's different for everyone, but on average, how long does it take in a relationship before you actually love the person?

(For me, last time it was 8 months, but our relationship went really slow. Very gradual.)

I wish there was a time frame where, if you hit that mark, you knew if it was love or not! I think it's safe to say that the first three to six months you're still just twitterpated and on your best behavior.....for both parties. I know you feel that after a few weeks you love them, but you still haven't jumped through any hurdles or gone through a crisis or difficult time........and if you already have the first month, it may be time to rethink this; do you need this much drama? It's easy when everything's going wonderful, but I truly believe that you have to go through some tough times to see if you two can still get through it without tearing each other apart....losing a job....family illness/death....something that will usually bring out the worst in people. In addition, you really don't know someone in just a month or two, you need to take the time to do that, and how long it can take depends on how honest both parties are, and how much they share. Being honest is not lying when asked a question; being open is volunteering the information before being asked. My mother fell in love with her new husband in one month; my father took over a year. Take into account, also, how good people are at lying to themselves....for better or worse. I'm not sure I actually answered that question, but it sure is interesting; I can't wait to see other people's answers!
