I have met a guy 4 months ago. He lives far away from me. When we were together we had romantic relationship (i think i loved him). Now we comunicate only by sms and emails. I miss him very much, but can it be so, that i just miss this relationship not him?

wow, that's a really good question!

I've wondered that sometimes too. It turns out that the only way to be sure is to try a new relationship. If it feels wrong with someone else, it looks like your ex was the right one for you. If he made it feel right, then it's the relationship with HIM that made it special.

However, if any relationship makes you feel happy just because you're wanted, then it wasn't the guy.

Test it out, you'll find the answer easily!

Yes, that can completely be it. You know, that's very cool of you to be able to see that as a possibility.

Sometimes people end up being in love with the idea of a person, or a relationship, rather than the person or relationship itself.

You need to really take some time to examine your feelings. You need to decide if you love the guy, or being in a relationship. You could love both, and that's okay. But you shouldn't continue on if you're not truly into the guy.

You can like the guy, and not love him yet, that's just fine. You know what I mean?

All I can tell you now is to look at your feelings deeply. Make lists of why you love HIM, and why you love the RELATIONSHIP. Things on the list about him cannot be "he sends me flowers" or things like that - that's more of a relationship thing.

Good luck with this.

Yes, I was one of those girls! I can admit that now that it has passed, but at one time in my life I could not be alone. I wasn't that I even like the guy that much, it was just comforting to know that I was in a relationship. I was not single for 3 years, because every time I broke up with a guy, I would replace him in a matter of days. It was not until my mom told me that I was not in love with the person, that I was in love with the idea of being in love. But can you blame me?? Isn't falling in love the best??

Most people mistake the idea of being in love with actually loving someone - so yeah, it can be so.
