I'm breast feeding my son, and I'm kinna wonder if the drugs I'm taking is safe for a breastfeeding. So I would like to try the wholistic approach to treat hives

The 1st thing you need to do is try to figure out what's causing them...Try eliminating one thing at a time until you can pinpoint the source...ie change laundry soap, fabric softener, moisturizer, body wash, deodorant
This can be easier if the hives are only affecting certain parts of your body.
If they're all over your body, it could also be a food allergy. Or, are you taking a different kind of vitamin or supplement while you're breastfeeding?
I know it's hard, but put all of your concentration into NOT SCRATCHING them. The more you scratch, the more it will spread. Sometimes putting ice packs or freezing cold water will help relieve the itch. Hot baths & showers always seem to make it worse for me, so I recommend lukewarm (as cool as you can stand).
I agree with the 1st answer on the Benadryl thing. That's what my Doctor gave me when I was pregnant and when I was nursing. The unfortunate side effect is still drowsiness.
Good luck!

Benadryl works for my grandaughter (8), and she has SEVERE reactions to her allergies. I don't know of any wholistic cures. If you're not satisfied with the answers you're getting, call your OB/GYN. He/she should be able to help.
