My boyfriend and I have been dating steady for two years. We do say the word "love" to each other, as in "I love you", but we also are the first person the other turns to in a crisis. He's been mentioning making this Valentine's Day "really special" for the past month. Could he prepose then?

Sure he could.

I hope for your sake he does not. Think about how cliche that is. On a fabricated Hallmark holiday that is set up for this sort of thing.

Also, you do NOT want to get your hopes up for this sort of thing. It will disappoint you way too much if you are expecting it all the time.

Plus if he was actually going to do this, he would probably like to surprise you and wouldn't be saying anything at all. I bet he does something out of the ordinary for you, but probably nothing that involves an engagement ring.

He may very well want to ask for your hand. However if he does not please do not act disappointed as I'm sure that he is doing something that he believes you will appreciate. When he's ready he'll propose, or for that matter you could always propose to him on Valentine's if he doesn't do as you are kind of dreaming about. There is nothing wrong with a woman asking her partner to marry them nowadays. Have a happy valentine's day and enjoy.

He could mean that and it seems like that is what you want. Don't ask him about it. He probably wants to keep it a bit of a surprise. But don't get your hopes up too much you don't want to end up devastated if he doesn't purpose. Don't talk about it to your friends too much either, it could end up not working out as you planned. when he mentions making valentines day special just say "I can't wait!"

It's very possible! Don't get your expectations up though, just so you can enjoy the day. Mine has done "very special" announcements before that got me all a-twitter... and turned out to be something wonderful and thoughtful, but not a ring.

Good luck girl!!!!

Possibly...but I would prepare for a really special evening where he does something nice for you. Don't walk in expecting an engagement...because if that isn't what he has planned you could be disappointed. Let me know what happens!!

You never know . . but try not to think about it too much, because if he doesn't, you don't want to be let down and upset.
Enjoy Valentine's Day no matter what. Don't expect anything.

it might be that he is proposing, i mean why would he say that this one is special, but don't get your hopes up or don't count to much on it because if he doesn't propose you might get desepointed and that's bad so keep all your options open and hope for the best . good luck

Don't get your hopes up - because if it's simply a vacation you will be let down. On the other hand, anything is possible - just don't set yourself up to be let down.

He could......sounds to me from the hints that maybe he will. Just don't get your hopes up to far though, you never know what he really means until that day comes.......
