Lately I've been having these periods of depression and euphoria that phase in and out. I don't mind the euphoria (obviously), but when I'm in one of my depression "phases" I literally am about to kill myself. I never feel very neutral anymore. And then all of a sudden I'm instantly in tears of joy, and I thank God for how wonderful my life is. Is it bipolar? Or is it just teenage hormones going crazy, like my mom tells me. I'm a 14 year old male.

It could very well be hormones. At your age, they do all sorts of crazy things to the body, but if you are very uncomfortable about it and worried..talk to you parents, telling them how you feel, and see if you can't talk with a doctor. They might beable to give you something to help you through your moods. good luck...

I went through the same thing growing up. I didn't even realize how bad it got until I found all the poems I wrote back then.

It could just be hormones, but you need to get checked out by the doctor. Manic-depression(bipolar disorder) can manifest itself early, so better to be safe than sorry. Undiagnosed teen bipolar disorder can cause serious problems in the future, like suicide.

Check your phone book where you live, and if there is a crisis center hotline, keep it with you. If your depression makes you want to die, then call them! If your parents won't listen to you, they will!!! They can also get you help if needed.

I doubt that this is bipolar. Bipolar episodes usually last for weeks to months. In fact, to be diagnosed Bipolar, the episodes must last a certain amount of time.

Bipolar people DO NOT swing back and forth from mood to mood constantly. This is a common misperception. Even rapid-cycling Bipolar people don't go back and forth instanteously.

Although I don't think you are Bipolar, if you are feeling suicidal, something is wrong. You need to get some help. Talk to your counselor at school if your parent will not take you seriously.

Anyone that is experiencing suicidal thoughts needs help. That is not normal. Please talk to your parents or your counselor at school and explain how you feel. You need to see a doctor.

Ahhh the emotional roller coaster of the adolescent years - I think most kids feel the way you do . . . I know I did. Don't jump to conclusions diagnosing yourself . . if you're that uncomfortable about your moods, go to a dr. who will help you figure out what's going on.

How much sugar do you eat? Do you eat bread, pasta, rice, cookies, cokes, cake, candy, fast food, soda, caffeine, donuts, fruit, juices, smoothies, yogurt, processed/packaged microwaveable food, fries, chips, corn syrup in just about everything including salad dressing, and god-knows-what-other crap? If you do, that's your problem. Your insulin and blood sugar are going crazy. Think adult-onset diabetes and talk to a nutritionist.

Sounds like you are bi-polar. A type of depression. This condition can be conrtolled with natural products. Go to www.vaxa.com and look at their products. Deprex works great for bi-polar. I have had this problem for years and now lead a normal life due to my taking their products.
