Of course it would be strained but does it need to be refrigerated after use?

When we make fries, we will re-use the oil by letting it cool, then pouring it back into a "used oil" bottle through a strainer and funnel.

As long as the oil was only used for potatoes and other vegetables, you can re-use this many times, until the oil gets darker or develops a milky film in it.

We did not refrigerate it after each use, and the whole family is still alive. ;-)

On the other hand, if you are cooking chicken or fish in the oil (or any meats for that matter), I would not recommend re-using and storing the oil. Although the oil temperature has probably killed off any salmonella or other harmful bacteria, it does retain the smell and flavor of the food that was cooked, and may affect other foods that you cook in there.

Until it gets very dark.

My fry pot resides on my back burner, covered, always at the ready for french fries or tortilla chips.

I will occasionally filter it thru a coffee filter -- it gets very clear in this process, a little amber from use, but still good going.

In the last 6 - 8 months, I can't recall dumping the oil -- just adding more.
No problem with taste -- however, I do not deep fry fish or other meats -- this would probably still work, but your other fried foods will have a slight taste/scent from these.

Should still be safe with the high heat involved -- just make sure you filter more often to clear out the small pieces of the meats/batters

Again, I filter thru a coffee filter using an old Mr. Coffee filter holder and paper filter, over a large cup -- but it might filter faster thru cheese-cloth.

No, does not need to be refrigerated. You can use the oil multiple times - each time the oil is used, the smoke-point is decreased. The smoke-point is the temperature at which the oil begins to break-down. You notice it when the oil begins to smoke.

Generally, you should be able to get between 5-10 frying sessions from your oil.

Yes. You need to refrigerate it after use.

I usually can use the oil about 3-4 times. If you fry fish, it won't be any good for frying anything else except more fish.

yes you do need to refrigerate it, you can reuse it until the intregerity of the oil breaks down, you can normally tell this by the aroma of the oil, when it really starts to stink it has gone bad, also when the color has gone real dark

You need some oil for fry the rings in. You can use any oil, but you need to watch the temperature as Olive oil will smoke at high heat and butter will burn.

You can reuse it as much as you want.....We have a hamburger place here in Memphis called Dyers Hamburgers where they deep fry the hamburgers and never change the grease. They were established in 1912 and havent changed the grease since then so if they do it them I think you will be alright

I use my deep fried oil twice if it's not used for fish. I don't put mine in the fridge and it's always been ok.

No, just leave it in pot and keep it covered. Stop using oil after it's turned a dark color...won't be good after that....
