Here is how you do it.

Ignore everyone who wants to make you believe that stuff like Reductil or Hoodia works. Its a waste of money. You can drink green tea til you're green in the face it'll make sod all difference!

Fad diets are rubbish too... Cabbage diet, egg diet etc etc... A healthy diet consists of lots of lean protein such as fish or chicken breast, lots of fruit and vegetables; starchy foods such as wholegrain bread, brown pasta and brown rice; some nuts and seeds and is low in fat (especially saturated fat), salt and sugar. Cut out processed and deep-fat-fried foods. No chips, crisps, pizza, white bread, microwaveable meals, burgers etc. Go very easy on the sweets and chocolates. You don't need to make your life a misery by counting calories, adding up "points" or worrying about "sins". Just eat light and healthy.

Have 3 proper meals and two snacks (one mid morning, one afternoon). Chew properly. Never skip breakfast. Try not to eat after 7pm.

Find a sport or an exercise you enjoy. There are so many to chose from, running, rowing, cycling, boxing, football, netball, basketball, volleyball, squash, tennis, circuits, weight lifting... The choice is yours!!! Start off with exercising 3x a week. Do a mix of aerobic and anaerobic cardiovascular exercises. Aerobic meaning you do 30+mins at a manageable speed where you should be able to talk. This builds endurance. Anearobic you do speed intervals where you go flat out and then have recovery breaks where you let your heartrate come back down and go again. That builds stamina. You can do this while running, cross trainer, rowing, cycling. Both aerobic and anaerobic cardio burns fat, just in different ways. You'll also develop your slow twitch as well as you fast twitch muscle fibres that way.

Think about it. Running burns 100 calories PER MILE!! If you run only 3 miles at a comfortable pace of a 10-minute/mile that's 300 calories gone just like that. Do that 3 times a week and you've already generated a calorie deficit of 900 calories by running alone. Its also practical in that you fit it in when you have time. Its not like missing the start of a class and then not exercising at all. Chuck your trainers in the boot of your car. Run before work, or in your lunch break or after work... easy.

Also do weight bearing exercises, either resistance machines or free weights. Lean muscle mass is the best fat burner we have. Once you build muscle it wants to live and it'll increase your basal metabolic rate even when resting.

When "healthy" becomes a habit, it'll just become second nature and part of your normal routine.

PS I think precious means the "lateral thigh trainer"... don't waste your money its rubbish.

Go running two or three times a week, take it easy because you don't need to over do and the weight will drop off. You should also aim for a healthy balanced diet with as little processed and fatty food as possible but do allow yourself the odd little treat now and again otherwise it's way too hard to stick to! Best of luck.

A healthy, well balanced diet, reduce your salt / sugar / fats intake . Also, try and get lots of fat burning exercises (not middle aged women in lycra suits!) such as running / cycling / swimming and other sports that use a lot of your body's muscles.

I think you're supposed to aim to do these three times or more per week leaving rest days in between.
